OMG it's 2008

Still here and still breeding Connemara ponies>

We have four new colt foals here at Windward Connemara's this year.

We are particularly happy with our purebred bay colt "Finnegan" born in late November 2007 to Kohe Kohe Colleen by Lonsdale Moonwind.

At two months old Finnegan is enjoying stretching his legs.

New Foals

Hi- Rob "guest-posting" at the Windward Connemara blog. Penny has been wondering about putting up some footage of the stud, and since we've had two new foals this Sept- and since we've now got broadband!- it seemed like a good time.

It's been a very wet winter. Now all is green and lush- even starting to get too dry! The foals are doing well- and there are more on the way.

All about Us

Hi everyone. I'm Penny and I want to introduce you to myself and my connemara ponies. I live with my partner Rob and our five children on a 75ha farmlet outside Christchurch city on the East Coast of New Zealand.


That's me on the right and my horse Monty (not a Connemara but still a lovely chap).




This is where we live. And in my case work. Since sending our youngest children off to school recently I have become an unpaid farm labourer - which is still a lot preferable to doing housework in my opinion. (Note my faithful Hilux double cab ute in the foreground. I would be lost without my work-a-day vehicular accessory ... what can I say "every girl should have one" . Not that I don't occasionally hanker for a tractor or 4 wheeler farm bike...)
